FTF Finished Projects – Hillsborough Residence
This new ground-up house is carved into the gentle green hillside of Hillsborough. An elegant and modern residence that combines the indoor/outdoor living in the warm weather of the San Francisco Peninsula. A pool, spa, outdoor BBQ, and pool-house are just few of the luxury features of this house. The high-end experience continues inside with open spaces and two story high ceiling in the lobby, a master suite, media room, and a design award winning kitchen. FTF Engineering was able to complement the unique architectural design by Dan Phipps Architects with elegant and resilient structural solutions that withstand the forces of nature.
Hollywood Residence – In Construction
Located in the center of Los Angeles, this new single family residence combines luxurious architectural features with state of the art engineering. FTF Engineering was ready when the call arrived from a good client that requested from us to design a residence that is capable to withstand the largest earthquake without damaging the residence. The FTF team combined advanced seismic analysis with modern building technology to create one of the most seismically resilient private residences in the world. The project is currently in construction and is expected to be completed in 2019. We also designed the excavation shoring system that utilized steel soldier beams and cross-lot bracing to protect adjacent properties.
This spring FTF teamed up with William Duff Architects and Murray Engineers rally about 30 AEC industry cyclists to ride the Wine Country Century hosted by the Santa Rosa Cycling Club. It was a great day on the bike and relaxing after completing one of the 100-mile, 100-km, or 35-mile routes. Randy Collins, James Enright, and Nadia Makoor participated in this event from FTF.
After doing the Wine County Century in May we kept up the momentum and in June a smaller group of AEC friends tackled a beautiful 75-mile ride with almost 9,000 feet of elevation gain that included the front and backside of Mount Hamilton. Randy Collins and James Enright rode their bikes in this strenuous but fun cycling event.
We had an amazing tour of San Francisco’s tallest building, the Sales Force Tower. Our very own John Dal Pino, S.E. arranged for a structural tour of the Sales Force Tower for our staff, guided by his friend Superintendent John Rottman of Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Company.
